We offer free, no-obligation estimates for flooring projects in our service areas. Estimates may be provided:

  • Online via our Floor Calculator (for approximate costs)
  • By phone or email
  • During a free in-home consultation

Important: Estimates are approximate and based on the information you provide. Final pricing may vary based on actual measurements, site conditions, material selection, and other factors discovered during the consultation or installation process.

4.2 Accuracy of Information

To receive an accurate estimate, you must provide complete and accurate information about your project, including:

  • Room dimensions and square footage
  • Type of flooring desired (hardwood, laminate, LVP/LVT)
  • Subfloor condition and any special requirements
  • Access to the property and any potential obstacles

We are not responsible for inaccurate estimates resulting from incomplete or incorrect information provided by you.

4.3 Binding Quotes

A formal written quote or proposal becomes binding only when:

  • We provide a detailed written quote or contract
  • You accept the quote in writing (signature or electronic acceptance)
  • Any required deposit or payment is received

Estimates provided via the Floor Calculator, phone, or email are for informational purposes only and do not constitute a binding agreement.

5. Service Agreements and Contracts

5.1 Written Agreements

All flooring sales and installation projects require a written service agreement or contract that specifies:

  • Scope of work and services to be provided
  • Materials to be used (type, brand, quantity, color, finish)
  • Total project cost, including materials, labor, and any additional fees
  • Payment terms and schedule
  • Project timeline and estimated completion date
  • Warranty information
  • Cancellation and refund policies

5.2 Changes to Scope of Work

Any changes to the scope of work, materials, or pricing after the contract is signed must be agreed upon in writing by both parties. Additional charges may apply for changes requested after work has begun.

5.3 Deposits and Payments

  • A deposit may be required to schedule your project and secure materials
  • Payment terms will be specified in your service agreement
  • We accept payment by cash, check, credit card, or financing (subject to approval)
  • Final payment is typically due upon completion of the project, unless otherwise specified

5.4 Financing Offers

From time to time, we may offer promotional financing (such as 0% interest for 12 months). Financing is subject to credit approval by our third-party financing partners. Terms and conditions apply and will be provided at the time of application.

6. Installation Services

6.1 Scheduling

Once your contract is signed and the deposit is received, we will schedule your installation. We will make reasonable efforts to complete your project within the estimated timeframe, but delays may occur due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Material availability
  • Unforeseen site conditions (subfloor damage, moisture issues, structural problems)
  • Changes to the scope of work

We are not liable for delays beyond our reasonable control.

6.2 Site Preparation

You are responsible for:

  • Removing furniture, rugs, and personal items from the work area (or arranging for us to do so for an additional fee)
  • Ensuring clear access to the work area
  • Providing electricity and water access as needed
  • Securing pets and ensuring a safe work environment
  • Notifying us of any hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint, etc.)

Failure to properly prepare the site may result in delays or additional charges.

6.3 Subfloor and Site Conditions

Our estimates assume standard subfloor conditions. If we discover issues such as:

  • Damaged, uneven, or unsuitable subfloors
  • Moisture or water damage
  • Structural problems
  • Asbestos or other hazardous materials

We will notify you immediately. Additional work and costs may be required before installation can proceed. You will have the opportunity to approve any additional work and costs before we proceed.

6.4 Material Selection and Availability

We will make reasonable efforts to provide the materials specified in your contract. However, flooring materials are subject to availability and may be discontinued or temporarily out of stock. If your selected material becomes unavailable, we will work with you to select a comparable alternative.

7. Warranties and Guarantees

7.1 Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our installation work. We provide a [specify timeframe, e.g., 1-year] workmanship warranty covering defects in installation, including:

  • Improper installation techniques
  • Gaps, buckling, or separation caused by installation errors
  • Issues directly resulting from our workmanship

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by improper maintenance or cleaning
  • Damage from water, moisture, or flooding
  • Damage from moving furniture or heavy objects
  • Damage from pets, accidents, or abuse
  • Issues caused by structural problems, subfloor movement, or environmental conditions beyond our control

7.2 Manufacturer Warranties

Flooring materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, not by Prestige Flooring. Warranty terms vary by product and manufacturer. We will provide you with warranty information for your selected materials. Claims under manufacturer warranties must be made directly with the manufacturer.

7.3 Waterproof Guarantee (LVP/LVT)

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP/LVT) flooring is marketed as waterproof by manufacturers. While the flooring material itself is waterproof, proper installation and site conditions are critical. We are not responsible for water damage caused by:

  • Flooding or standing water
  • Plumbing leaks or appliance failures
  • Improper subfloor moisture barriers
  • Failure to maintain proper humidity levels

7.4 Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim:

  1. Contact us in writing at prestigeflooringpdx@gmail.com or (503) 728-8415
  2. Provide photos and a detailed description of the issue
  3. Allow us a reasonable time to inspect and assess the claim
  4. We will repair or replace defective work at our discretion

Warranty claims must be made within the warranty period. Failure to properly maintain your flooring or notify us of issues promptly may void your warranty.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services or products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific project or service
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of use
  • We are not liable for delays, defects, or damages caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, material defects, or third-party actions

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

9.1 Cancellation by Customer

You may cancel your service agreement under the following conditions:

  • Before materials are ordered: Full refund of deposit, minus any administrative fees
  • After materials are ordered but before installation begins: Refund of deposit minus the cost of materials ordered and a cancellation fee
  • After installation has begun: No refund; you are responsible for the full contract amount

Cancellations must be made in writing.

9.2 Cancellation by Prestige Flooring

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service if:

  • You provide false or misleading information
  • You fail to make the required payments
  • Site conditions make installation unsafe or impractical
  • You engage in abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior toward our staff

If we cancel for reasons other than your breach of contract, we will refund any payments made.
